hey! somethings wrong with my explorer. it has to restart every few seconds and i dont know why. i keep on scanning my laptop for a virus but nothing comes up. anyone have an idea as to what the problem could be? :D

My Computer

have you gone in the command line and typed sfc /scannow

try it in safe mode....

Fully agree with the above suggestion . Reboot system in Safe Mode and see what happens , If issue does not re occur then try to disable the startup programs and services and then restart system in normal mode. Then try to identify the culprit startup application by enabling the startup apps one by one. If Explorer still crashes in safe mode try to run a spyware scan using SpySweeper .

windows explorer. it still happens in safe mode. i did the sfc / scannow in the command promt and a file came up. is it the file causing the problem?

My Computer

that's probable, hence the suggestion for running sfc /scannow.

Which file did come up? have you written it down?
