every app hangs

hey i just installed vista x64 and every app i open hangs..it opens fine and then when i use the keyboard to type it says it hangs??? anyone else have this problem or ever heard of it?? thanx

my computer specs

q6600
x38 asus maximus
4 gigs ram
nvidia gtx 8800
500 gig hard drive

Download and install the newest updated Utility Software called AI Suite, 1.03.17 from ASUS website. This is the fix. I have Maximus with x64 too. Had same problem for weeks.
PS= Your keyboard will work fine if you go through the 64 bit browser.
