This problem has been occuring with my copy of Windows Vista 64 bit Home Premium edition.
I have been having an error occur while using Windows Media Center. Almost all of the features work well. The music, television and movies work as they should.
Whenever I try to access any feature on Windows Media Center that uses internet acces, this is where problems occur. Whenever I acces these icons:
news: msnbc.com(beta)
internet tv(beta)
Online Media: Program Library
Online Media: Explore
Online Media: Video Game news
Online Media: Learn How
Online Media: New Extenders
At most, windows media center continues to run for a few seconds before locking up. No text is shown, no new images appear. I can maximize and minimize the window but I cannot close windows media center by clicking the close icon or the 'x' symbol in the upper right.
This happens while running in administrator mode as well.
Just to prevent confusion.
In order for me to close Windows Media Center, I have to open the task manager. While opened, the task manager tells me that Windows Media Center is still running while the software is locked up. I highlight the Windows Media Center under the 'task' tab and tell Windows Task Manager to end the task of Windows Media Center.
After a few seconds, a new window appears telling me that Windows Media Center is not responding and closes the window. After a brief search, by Windows, to see what is causing this issue, Windows proceeds to restart Windows Media Center.
Restarting does not solve the issue at all.
Any idea why this occurs and how to fix it?
