Error with Microsoft Knowledge Base Article:967752

Hello. Yesterday I received the 0x80070490 code that told me there was a problem preventing Windows Update from working.

I found this website: You receive a "0x80070490" error code when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update Web sites to install updates and repaired vista like the directions said. Windows Update works fine now, and I installed all 97 updates that were shown.

However, after Vista was finished repairing I received the message: Error with MSDM - Microsoft Knowledge Base Article: 967752.

I also received the message: System Event Notification Service - Failed to connect to a windows service.

I'm not exactly sure what to do from here to fix these problems.

I have Vista Home Premium x32. I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but ever since i reinstalled vista my computer is also taking a very long time to start up.

I could use whatever advice anyone has! Thanks!

Error behind error :huh:-repair install don't fix all issues or even more cause another one error
It maybe cuased by:

- trouble with the hardware or drivers
- trouble with 3p applications
- virus infection

First I suggest diagnose hard disk - here you tools to diagnose hard disk - choose appriopriate for your disk model http://usasma.vox.com/library/post/bootable-hard-drive-diagnostics.html

Thank you for your help. I am in the process of running the Hard Drive tests on the Diagnostics Disc on my Dell laptop, and so far I have received a ton of errors.

The S.M.A.R.T Short Self Test had Error Code: 0F00:065d, Msg: IDE device failed the read portion of the test

The Confidence Test presented a bunch of Error Codes: 0F00:1344 and 1340 errors about Media and Data protection

The Seek Test presented a bunch of Error Codes: 0F00:0448 and IA40 errors about Target Drive Aborting the command

It's still running the rest of the tests, and those errors just keep coming...

I'm not sure exactly what any of these mean, but I remember reading somewhere that the Short Self Test error I received is the kiss of death. Hopefully I'm wrong

These errors codes mean your hdd is corrupted.Backup your private data and buy new hdd.
