configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (code 19) using Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1.

Somehow registry entries for my Nikon S550 got corrupted.
I had to unintall the driver, then
turn on the camera and let the S550 driver be reinstalled. Since can't seem to find the driver to download manually on your website.

Don't if this had anything do with disabling USB mass storage hub to get rid of annoying phantom I,J,K drives.

USB stuff worked better in XP! No solution found when clicked "check for solution"

Hi,

Try Re-install the drivers & software. Or try the last known good configuration when booting.

  1. On the device Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Uninstall. Follow the instructions.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Open Device Manager, click Action, and then click Scan for hardware changes. Follow the instructions.

I appologize my original post was not clear.
Uninstalling the S550 driver and re-installing DID solve the problem.

I was just expressing my displeasure, that
1) how the heck did this happen in the first place?
2) Windows 7 better solve some of the bad USB behaviors introduced in Vista.:)
