enable Microsoft Updater?

So I am trying to install Microsoft Forefront (x64) to have virus protection...but it keeps giving me a message during installation, that won't allow for the installation to be completed. This is what it says:

"Microsoft Updates have not been detected as enabled by the installer. Please ensure Microsoft Updates are enabled."

The odd thing is that I have automatic updates turned on and I have my OS (Vista Ulimate x64) completely updated. Can anyone help me out??? I need this virus protection installed.

Dwarf...I tried the first method and installed and ran the AU Check...but it still did not fix my problem. I am still getting the same message over and over again.

What seems to be the problem? Any more suggestions?

Also, why did my post get moved...??? Maybe there are some others out there with input.
