Email Question

Hello, I use Winmail for most of my emails. A problem has developed.

My daughter can email me and I can receive them but when I email her she does not get the mail.

I do not have any problems with others that I email through Winmail.

Would appreciate any thoughts

Does she get it if she goes to the website?

Richard, thanks for your input. Before I go much farther on this problem, I went to the winmail website. The thing I see there is "Winmail Opener" I downloaded it but have not seen anything there.

Perhaps you can direct to what I should be looking for.

Thanks

I am trying to figure out if the problem is due to your Windows Mail or your daughter's

Scenario
You use Windows mail and you say that your daughter did not receive it in Window mail. Ok thats fine
But did she receive it in her email account? What email is she using? Is it Yahoo or MSN or her own ISP. Most emails allow you to go to their website and get your mail; in case you are away on vacation etc. and do not have your computer.

Richard, I'm not sure at this point what email service she is using. I will get with her and find out and post back to you.

Keep watching, thanks

Hi Java,

I too like your avatar (though I wouldn't exchange it for mine). When you talk, I'd like to determine a few more things besides the important information Richard already requested if possible.

Another question to ask is if she is receiving e-mails from anyone/everyone else. If she sends one to herself, does she get it? Are you, in fact, the ONLY one from whom she is not getting the emails in WM? Also, do your emails contain attachments? If so, try sending one without attachments to see if that has anything to do with the problem.

Also, it would be good to confirm that your e-mails to her are not ending up in the junk mail folder instead of the inbox (this sometimes happens even when not specifically marked as junk or sometimes when accidentally marked as junk when intending to select a different email). If so, select one and reset it as safe to get them back into the inbox where they belong.

Finally, does this happen with sending, replying, and forwarding or only one or two of those options? Here I'm trying to verify that your contact list or address book is accurate. If replying works (which uses the info from the source e-mail rather than your contact list or address book), but the other two don't, then there's a good chance that you need to verify the contact information or create a new contact listing and then delete the old contact.

Thank you for your help here. I'm sorry we need to ask so many questions, but we aren't there to see what is happening so we need your assistance to try to figure out the source of the problem. Once we determine that, we can focus more keenly on options to solve it.

Good luck - and perhaps you can tell her about this thread and she can join us and maybe shorten the time it will take to get this resolved by directly answering questions about her system and setup.
