I am an IT consultant and my client has 2 PC's. One is a Dell Dimension 5100 without a wireless capability. It is running XP sp3. The other is a Dell Inspiron 1545 running Vista Home Premium sp2. The common printer is an HP Photosmart C4580 wireless unit. The internet connection is a Thompson wireless router. The Dimension is linked by ethernet cable to the router and by USB cable to the printer. The printer is incorporated into the network centred around the router. This PC uses Outlook Express for emails and can print emails with no problems. The printer software is the latest version downloaded from HP. The Inspiron is linked to the router via the wireless connection and also to the printer via the wireless connection. All print functions work as they should EXCEPT in Windows Mail. If you try to print any email in Windows Mail it locks up and the only recourse is to reboot. Incredimail was installed and works perfectly EXCEPT it will not print emails. It does not lock up but no print is spooled to the printer. As a check I set the printer up as a USB unit and connected via a USB cable. The result is exactly the same. This proves the fault is not in the wireless connection. All fingers point to a Vista problem UNLESS somebody knows better. Any comments or help would be gratefully received. It is no good uninstalling and re-installing, this has been done countless times and does not fix the fault. Thanks
