dvd player problems!!

Ok so ive been running vista ultimate for a while now without any problems, however out of no where i went to go put in a dvd and it seemed like it was trying to read it cuz the leds were lighting up and what not but then just gived up.. so i put in a different dvd hoping that would work with the same results.. when ide check my computer it would see that there is a dvd player there however it keeps telling me theres nothing in the drive.. ive updated the driver through windows however still no sucess any suggestions? please get back to me im trying to play call of duty!!! :(

Hmm I have run into this in the past with older DVD drives and XP/Vista. Sounds like the drive has simply gone bad. New DVD-RW drives are very inexpensive. I'm sure they got some at your local computer store or you can puchase online. If you think the DVD drive is under warrenty feel free to call the maker and ask them about it. Hope this info helps!
