DVD Drives v64

I have two DVD drives that are being seen by Windows via the device manager, howerver neither of their trays are opening up in order to use them? Any ideas? I have a hard time believing that both have failed, they were installed only in November 2007 and the machine was built then. Anyone?

Are these drives that were working previously? Are they IDE and if so, do you have the master/slave jumpers set correctly?

Are you able to open the drives as the computer is booting? Or is this a windows-specific problem?

Tried swapping cables?

They are both SATA drives and yes they were working properly before. I do no use them a whole lot so I cannot pinpoint the last time they did work. However I noted it shortly after SP1 of course. Neither light up at all.

I have one cable that is powering both drives, I also have 2 750GB hard drives as well and a modular 650 Watt PSU. One cable for the two hard drives and one for the two DVD drives. I'll try a new cable this evening and post back.
