Dual MS Office's on the same computer

I recently installed MS Office Enterprise 2007 over MS Office XP Professional with FrontPage. While I was browsing around in Programs and Features (Uninstall a program), when I noticed that both programs are on my system at the same time. Each program is the full version, not an upgrade. My question is, can I delete MS Office XP and not damage MS Office 2007 or do I need to delete both, and reinstall the one of my choice?

My last question, how do I save MS Outlook 2007? I have a lot of personal folders that I don't want to delete. In the past, whenever I would delete any MS Office program, I lose my personal folders in Outlook. Any advice on your behalf will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

You can probably get away with just uninstalling Office XP, however if it does break Office 2007, then reinstall that too. However, I would recommend backing up your Outlook profile first, just in case. (see the second half of my post)

To backup your profile or to export your profile for importation on another computer/installation:

• Open Outlook to export data from.
• Click File > Import and Export > Outlook.
• Select "Export to a File" and click Next.
• Select "Personal File Folder (.pst)" and click Next.
• Click on "Personal Folders" at the top, check "Include Subfolders", and click Next.
• Put the file on your Desktop or wherever, and leave it radio in "Replace duplicated with items exported" and click Next.
• Let Outlook finish what it is doing.
• Back up the new .pst file.

To import your exported profile:

• Select "Import from another Program or File" and click Next.
• Select "Personal File Folder (.pst)" and click Next.
• Point ot location, select "Do not import Duplicates", and click Next
• Let Outlook finish.
