Solved Dual monitor problem

I am trying to set up my dual monitor settings, but am having a bit of trouble. Here is a link to my current desktop, not embedded because it is rather large.

According to the settings, I have the my left monitor as my primary monitor, and my right monitor is my secondary monitor. What is bugging me is that my start menu is on the secondary monitor when I would like it on the primary. If I swap my primary and secondary monitors, my icons move to the right monitor, but regardless of primary/ secondary my start menu remains on the right. How do I move it to the left?

see if you can unlock the taskbar and drag it to the left desktop.

Unfortunately,l unlocking the taskbar only allows me to move the location of the quick launch bar and the open files & fodlers along the task bar, but not the task as a whole. Is this exclusive to me, or are you able to move your taskbar around?

My Computer

you've tried dragging the taskbar to the other monitor? i'm not trying to be sarcastic, but grabbing the taskbar from an open location and moving it to the other monitor should have worked.

the picture has the windows display settings dialog box as well as the ati display settings box too. as you can see, my primary monitor is the left monitor or 1.

video (sorry for the lack of clarity) shows me unlocking the taskbar, grabbing an open location, and dragging it to the right monitor and back.

mpcrsc562, a sincere thanks to your help. It was no trobule moving the taskbar at all. I initially assumed that when click+dragging it, I would "freeroam" abilities of the taskbar, never considering that it would snap to edges.

Such a simple request that was made far more difficult because of my quick nature to jump the gun and throw a tantrum. But thank you for helping resolve the issue.

no problem at all. glad it worked out!
