Dual boot question.

Pain In The Butt
Power User
Right now I am dual booting XP and Vista Ult. 64bit. I have used XP twice in two years and want to get rid of it. Is there a way that I can keep Vista and install W7 in place of XP and not lose my Vista 64?

Hello Ingerborgdot,

Since the XP partition is the one that contained the boot files, then you most likely will lose the option to select Vista at boot after format XP and install Windows 7 on the XP partition. However, you should be able to easily run a Startup Repair on the Vista partition to get it back.

If Windows 7 does not see the Vista partition, then this will show you how to fix it so that it will.

Hope this helps,
