Drivers not working to restore

Hi,

I have a Toshiba Satellite A 205 with Vista HOme Premium and yesterday I tried restoring the system to out of box with the drivers but it can't find the files on the drivers so now my computer is not starting. When I do try to start it, it says BOOTMGR missing. Click Ctrl Alt Delete to restart. and the process happens all over again. I deleted the hard disk but it still won't restore the system. I do not know what to do. I was trying to restore the system to out of box because I heard you should do that once a year and it's been running slow and there's some stuff I wanted to get off of it. This is only the 2nd time I've restored it' the first time it worked fine (this was a year ago). Also had no prblem reinstalling individual drivers when they became inoperable like the volume driver.

What should I do?

Hi and welcome to vista forums

we need to get some info. do you have a vista disk, or the restore disks from the mfr? Can you boot using those disks? is there anything on the disk you cant live without?

The idea of what you wanted to do is great, but we can show you a different safer way.

Can you boot, or does the bottmgr missing prevent you?

again welcome

Ken

You can grab some of your drivers here...

You gave me commands to issue to repair the bootmgr. What were they?

Edit:

bootrec /Rebuild BCD
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /Fixboot
