Doesnt connect to linksys router[urgent]

I secured my network connection only to find out that my vista laptop couldnt connect to the wireless. it says "the setting saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network". My other MACs laptop could connect with no problems. Please advice! thanks!

Open network and sharing by clicking on the network icon by the clock then click on manage wireless networks then go into the properties of your wireless card then click on security and enter all relevant info.

I set up the secured network using a XP-based version laptop,not the vista-based, should i reset the connection using the vista-based laptop?

Thanks alot!! Initially i tot vista would prompt me for the WEP password, tats where the confusion sets in. Is WPA or WEP better in terms of security?

Glad I could help and welcome to the forum.

I use a strong WEP password and set a password for the router that is strong too so no one can change any settings.

Technically speaking, though, WP1 is better than WEP, and WP2 is better than WPA....
