Nope, Amazon is rarely the cheapest for computer hardware. Peripherals and consumer electronics sure.
I get most of my stuff from Newegg, Tiger, Microcenter, and the like.

Amazon worked for me this time. Wanted an ULTRA X3 1000W PSU. Tiger/CompUSA had them for 199.99 + shipping. Checked Amazon and it was 179.99 + shipping. Funny thing, although I ordered through Amazon, Tiger shipped it the same day I ordered it and the PSU was in my compy on the third day. I saved $20.00! It really pays to check around.

I usually check 5 to 8 places and whichever has the cheapest and good customer service, that's the place I get it from.
If the price diff is less than 10 bucks (depending on the total of course), I may be partial to get it from newegg because, so far, they do have the best customer service.
