Display Problems

Hi all im experiencing a display problem on my laptop. It seems that when i change the appearance setting to vista aero from vista basic the display quality is better however im unable to keep this setting after i reboot.
Prior to this i've installed Football manager 08 and this problem only occured after that(think it changed some settings). I've unistalled the game but a folder still remains in the public document folder and im unable to del it. "It says unable to locate file"
Pls advise on these 2 issues

My first thought would be to recommend a system restore to a point prior to when the game was installed. This should resolve the issue. If not, let us know and we'll do some more looking around.
