Different Blue Screens Need Help....

Hi,
I guess I would need some help and assistance or at least some opinion.

My wifes PC has trouble, bigger trouble for me.
It's Gateway PC FX 4710
Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit Version
6GB Ram
Nvidia 7800GT Graphic Card
One User installed, one system Vista only
PC also used by son for gaming...

Problem Blue Screen

No new hardware or software installed recently,
last Windows vista update was on 01/15

When I start first,
PC passes user registration (boots fine) and
does the normal stuff like loading software and starting the wireless internet connection
via Netgear, opening some windows/programms I will close.
All normal, but than comes a Blue Screen and very fast shut down of system with restart.
Hardly can read the message...
Look like Blue Screen appears when to much action is going on like opening of IE and Outlook...
or open to many windows...
or some bad programm/hardware is booting

But when I restart, restart gives a different blue screens and trouble is much earlier or directly after registering to the system.

But all starting or booting turn slower, real slow now.

Start in --safe mode with net working-- the PC works, but the PC can't handle heavy workloads,
is really slow in action.
I cannot open --My pictures-- to see all picture files displyed on screen (2.7 GB) (the process trying to access the files in safe mode is real slow) and when I attempt to transfer the file to a USB stick, the computer is stopping in middle of action (after 50% transfer).
Actually that always happens in safe mode, always when I ask for to much action, computer stops working.

--Diagnostic Tool run on startup says hardware trouble no details...
also no details on later log on...
--System recovery or reset to an earlier date does solve anything...
I even csan't check if it was successfull, but I guess...
--running repair mode for start up didn't help also,
didn't solve anything, looks like hardware trouble but which hardware?

Safe Mode doesn't say much about trouble or show conflicts with drivers.

Even after System recovery and system repair mod above mentioned problems still persist
in safe mode and normal...

Checking Problems in Safe Mode answer is
Appcrash memory
and
Superfetch trouble (this programm that speeds up the memory)
seem superfetch crashes the system

As I have to save data and programm on harddrive first I haven't run a system re-installation, but I guess this will not solve my trouble.

Any ideas on what might be wrong or what to do and in which order,
I am a little clueless.
Failure in operating system? Vista defect?
Failure in memory ram
Failure in prozessor
Failure in video card or harddrive?

Any ideas or suggestions?

In your system specs; I see that you have a 32 bit with 6 gb ram. In a 32 bit system the maximum ram is 4 gig and it will only use up to 3.0 to 3.5 gigs of ram. Any thing beyond that is not needed. This would be my first step.
The blue screen you are referring to sounds like the blue screen memory dump. This is caused by any number of things, mainly hardware and software. Yes...even some of MS's own updates can do this. So if you haven't added any hardware to the system, what about software? If you have uninstall that and then check your system.
I just had this happen to me recently with some software. Found it, deleted it and had no problems since.

I just had this happen to me recently with some software. Found it, deleted it and had no problems since.

I bought the PC in August and it was working just fine till yesterday.
Even 32 Bit and 6 GB didn't cause trouble or can anything have request a change to 32 Bit without my notice?

I had one game installed on Monday (Zoo Tycoon 3) and as it wasn't working on Vista, I uninstalled it, but PC was still working normally after uninstallation.
But you are right about the memory dump, it read this in failure messages.

Microsoft was running an update for vista on Wednesday, at least that when it was on my laptop,
maybe my wife's Vista desktop was running the Vista update too and that caused the problems.

Yeah, to many options on what might be the cause of this trouble.

Hi gheinbeck, your may first disable autorestart in boot options so you are able to provide the error codes by pressing F8 while first boot up (if I didn't remember it wrong); just in case you hadn't thought about it.

Next, as suggested, to eliminate the possible bad ram by using one stick at a time to see if it helps. Maximum 4 gb of rams is appropriate for your 32 bit system.

Restore system to an earlier restore point where before problem arrived would also be helpful. When the system is stable enough.

You also may check to see if all components and connections are seat and secure.

Finally, check to see if the PSU making any unusual sound or anything unusual such as if fan functioning. Quality of PSU from big manufacturer is questionable.

You might have just got some bad virus; an system recovery would have taken care of.

You might also want to look at Event Viewer and examine the Critical, Error and Warning messages contained therein - Start>Control Panel>System and Maintenance>Administration Tools>Event Viewer.

Look in the Summary of Administration Events pane and expand the Critical, Error, or Warning event types, if any exist...
