Help!
I have a Dell Studio 540 vista home premium (service pack 1) 64bit OS. I have a Dial up US robotics modem with AOL ISP. At times I can connect to the internet and stay connected for an unlimited amount of time. At other times the connection will drop almost immediately and continue to do so randomly. It's like it has a mind of its own. I have reinstalled modem drivers, removed security software, slowed down the modem connection speed and reset my computer to its original settings. Nothing seems to work. Could I have a defective modem? Any suggestions?
