Desperate for some help...

Hi all! It seems my wife's computer (Sony Vaio, Intel Core 2 Duo, Vista Home Premium x64) has contracted a nasty redirect virus that I just can't seem to get rid of. It showed up a couple weeks ago, and after hours of online suggested fixes, I thought I finally had cleaned it all up. I even tried searching multiple times to verify she was no longer redirected, and it looked clean.

Unfortunately, it popped back up a couple days ago. It is being redirected anytime you perform any type of search online (ie. Google, Yahoo, etc... and the search completes, it just takes you to a different page once you click the results)...

My recent attempts to fix it have brought me here, and to http://www.vistax64.com/system-security/293859-rootkits-tdsskiller-did-not-work.html specifically. I went through and thought I'd try that Rsit log and post for you all to possibly help me out figuring out what I need to do to get her back in service. I did the Flush.bat log, and then the Rsit.

Any help is greatly appreciated. This thing has frustrated me to no end....

Welcome
We do have specialists, who deal with virus, etc and I am not one. I do know, however, that with a bad rootkit (which you most likely have) the best action is to reinstall. I would reinstall if it were me. The usual instructions to reinstall is to back up your stuff and then reinstall the Operating System either with a DVD or with the restoration partition, which you most likely have on your computer. If you wish to take advantage of these options and want more information, just post.
You an try this suggestion, which is for a redirect, but I do have serious doubts about its effectiveness

I agree do the reinstal and this time check out every programme you add after your reinstallation, believe it or not this is something I have learned since Win95, if you work out the hours you have wasted on this problem you will see that a full installation is actually quicker. The other thing is that the so called "FIX" programmes dont work rather they themselves are malware.
Tell your wife, (if you can tell her lol), that she has to do good housekeeping with her PC, buy her an external drive for backing up her work, NOT her programmes.
