I've tried Vista Shortcut Overlay Manager and several "Tweak" programs. Sadly none have worked. I have no icon problems, just hate those arrows. Short of messing with the registry are there any other options?
My *.REG file remove phrase IsShortcut only for the moment and restore it back again.I don't think so it cauld cause any problem :eek:That's the improper XP method, that can cause the shortcut icons to have a blank icon instead. I would not recommend to use that one in Vista.![]()
I understand that now.Sorry for my mistakeVista uses this value to track links, if you remove or rename the IsShortCut value lots of programs and features that use links will not work correctly. For example, in Vista the shortcuts in Favorite Links, Media Center, and in the Games Explorer disappear or will not work anymore.![]()
