Desktop appears black after spyware removal

This is a huge huge problem since I bought a laptop pre-installed with Vista and didnt even have a chance to make recovery disks before I was attack by Trojan.Vundo. To make a long story short I can see all other pictures exept any in the wallpaper section and cannot use my own pictures as a background. All other pictures are working. I tried the RegEntry from WinHelp but it says I am "Forbidden". What can I do? I had a desktop this mornign and now I don't... There is no way of me reinstalling Vista because it was already on my laptop when I purchased it from Future Shop.

There may be a recovery partion on the laptop. I would go back to future shop and ask them were the recovery media is.

Hello charleyd, welcome to Vista forums!

Your laptop probably has a "Recovery Partition" hidden on the HDD.
You can usually access it (depending on the manufacturer) like this ...
Start with the machine off; depress the power button then start tapping the F11 key.
That should bring you to the "Recovery Center", if it does just do as it suggests
to recover your machine.
If that doesn't work try the F12 key.
