I have been having problems with the dep. I can log onto Facebook but any navigation away from the home page causes it to shut down. I have ren the virus scan, cleared my cache, but no luck. What to do next? I am also awaiting word from Facebook, though I dont think they will answer.

What error message are you getting? what makes you think it is DEP?

I am using Internet explorer 8. I have had this computer for about 5 months. I have not had any issues with facebook or its applications with this computer until last week. I have cleaned out any unused applications, done two virus scans and no luck.

Try turning off DEP inside of inside of Internet Explorer and see if that helps. Click on Tools, Internet Options, then the Advanced tab. Scroll down to Security and uncheck "Enable memory protection to help mitigate online attacks".

Then Apply/Ok, restart Internet Explorer and see if it has resolved the issue.
