Deleted Files, Deleted or Not?

Hi Everyone,

After I've deleted a file, emptied it from the recycle bin, theres still a record kept of that file somewhere. If I type "C:/" in the Start/Search Box theres a history kept of all the files I've deleted. Is this normal and how can I clear this up?

By the way, I've switched off the recent files option so that shouldn't be logging.
