Hi Folks, I'm having absolutely no luck installing Adobe CS3. I've tried everything that I could find suggested on various forums to no avail and have even contacted Adobe support. They tell me they don't support trial downloads but that my situation is "strange" and unusual. This is not the impression I get from looking at several different forums, also I can't buy a piece of software I can't install
My PC is about 4 months old. Spec as follows- Asus P5N-E SLI, Q6600, nVidia 8600GT, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower 650 PSU+Samsung 226BW monitor.
I must have downloaded at least a dozen CS3 trials and attempted to install them. The files extract onto the desktop and then when I run setup I get the installer window. The bar moves across and that's the end of the story.
I have tried running an elevated command prompt:-
"cd C:\Windows\SysWow64" then "regsvr32 vbscript.dll" then "regsvr32 jscript". I thought this was going to be successful but when I tried to run the installer it failed and I got the following message:
"The module "vbscript.dll" was loaded but the call to DLLRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80004005"
I outlined all this in my mail to Adobe and receved the suggestion thet I set up another user account with admin privileges (as the only user I am admin anyway) and start again from scratch.
I've done this with identical results, same error message etc.
Can anybody help?
