Is anyone else having problem starting crysis warhead singleplayer? When i start game it says i need an internet connection. BS, there is nothing wrong with my Pc or connecting online, everything works fine except warhead. Not sure why singleplayer needs internet? Is it a bug in the game or what. Help!

I'm not having any problems on XP or Vista. Warhead checks in with the publisher's site every time it is launched so yea you need internet to play single player.

Does it need EA download manager? I even turned the firewall off. I can't see why it cant connect. I play COD4 all the time. Even the multiplayer crysis worked.

Because of all the DRM crapware, it needs to contact home base periodically to let you keep playing your purchased game. Sorry, I'm just against this whole DRM fiasco because it hurts the innocent consumer more than it does the pirates...

DRM is just ridiculous now with games. I reckon it's a lot harder to get the game running if you buy it legally than it is if you download it illegally :S

Though I've started buying a lot of games through Steam now. They have Crysis on there (which I'm surprised - didn't think EA would allow that) and once it's downloaded and everything, never had any problems with running them.

I actually very much like Steam/Valve. That's one of few companies I highly respect.

As for EasyRider, I'm sorry you have problems with your game connecting online.

You can always try re-installing it. I downloaded mine from D2D and didn't have any connection problems. If you're using a DSL cable modem some of them have their own firewall.

+1

Friend of mine bought both copies (Warhead and War I think?) to play offline and online and he had a terrible time trying to play, got pissed off, downloaded the pirated copy and he's happy as a pig on, well, you know! ;) He still wonders how he's going to be able to play online once he's done with the single player campaign

Dev houses blame piracy for their lack of sales but I blame their DRM crap more than just plain piracy.

don't get me started on UBIsoft crappy/bluggy/glitchy games at launch or lack of support for them after getting their money for it!
