Cross Site scripting???

I was on wwe.com (a very reputable site) and suddenly a little message popped up saying the page had been modified to prevent cross side scripting? I clicked on more info and read this

How does Internet Explorer help protect me from cross-site scripting attacks?

The information in this Help topic applies to Windows Internet Explorer 8.
Internet Explorer's Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) Filter can help prevent one website from adding script code to another website. XSS Filter watches how websites interact, and when it recognizes a potential attack, it will automatically block script code from running. When this happens, you will see a message in the Information bar letting you know that the webpage was modified to help protect your privacy and security.
If the modified webpage does not work properly, try going to the home page of the website and navigating to the webpage directly. If the page still does not work correctly, contact the website's administrator.

Does this mean wwe.com attacked me???

No, it doesn't mean you were "attacked". It just means that the site's behaviour was flagged (and prevented) as a "potential" attack.

I just went there myself, out of curiosity to see what the "reputable" site actually was, and was hit with two attempted marketing pop-ups.

By the way, you do realise it's all play-acting don't you? I mean, they don't reeealy hit each other very hard. It's more like a choreographed dance. What you're in effect watching is big boofy men dancing with each other ;)

Go search youtube for "fedor" and "nogueira" if you'd like to watch one real professional fighter truly bash the stuffing out of another one :D

OK, let's recap :)

Having apparently already incapacitated his opponent - he appears to be taking a little nap - the presumed eventual winner decides that the optimal end-game strategy is to climb up what might be a tradesman's ladder, conveniently left in the ring should someone wish to start climbing it, and to attempt to ruin his opponent's sweet dreams by forward-flipping (very artistic, that!) squarely onto his liver. Unfortunately, he fails to account for the crosswind, and the otherwise-flawless Olympic springboard forward tuck leads to a graceful glide over his opponent's soft carcass and onto the hard platform floor.

The (unintended) level of humour and entertainment might be real, but the "fighting" is very, very fake ;)

Here's what an actual fight looks like when they start jumping:
YouTube - Fedor vs Randleman - Suplex

The banter's the best bit BTW :)

Perhaps a moderator should move this to the "chillout room" so that we can continue to argue in the officially sanctioned area :)

Dude, I was going to go all investigative, but then you edited and added that "juicing" video which entirely proves my point. WWE is _not_ a fight. A fight is when the combatants do everything they can to win. Your own video links show that WWE is staged to the point where all of them - ref included - follow a pre-arranged plan. Even before they step into the ring, all of them already know who is going to "win"! It's decided beforehand by marketing and merchandising beancounters in offices, not by the clowns in hilarious outfits whose only role is to act in-character and oil up thoroughly.

The fact that they're sometimes in real pain doesn't make it any less of a choreographed dance. Even ballerinas feel pain when En Pointe, or so I'm told :)

People actually think that that stuff is real?

YES, I know It is staged. They know what moves to pull of they know who is to win. That is true BUT the pain is all real. Getting slammed on cement or getting thrown through a cell is all 100% real. Some of the punches and that type of thing aernt though but all the slams are in fact real.

these are not fake- these people are in pain

YouTube - Undertaker Chokeslams Mankind Through Cell!

YouTube - WrestleMania 21: Batista Bomb against Triple H

YouTube - Shawn Michaels Kills Shelton Benjamin not literally

Now you go do all that yourself and tell me its not fake from a hospital bed

It hurts when the elaborate stunt breaks down, when the carefully planned and communicated dance routine accidentally fails and real contact is made, or one of them falls awkwardly, or their advancing age causes muscles and bone to give out during moves that a younger "wrestler" would absorb without apparent damage. You really should watch all 5 parts of that "Exposed!" video you linked to - it explains the "powerslams", and the "piledriving", and the chairs across the back, and all the hoopla.

The one thing it's not is a fight.

Some years ago, wrestling first made it to the tv stations my parents and I watched.

One of the wrestlers was an Indian, claiming to be Cherokee. he did a 'war dance' before stomping on the bad guy wrestler.

My dad's employer transferred him to another part of the US.

There were the same wrestlers on tv. Different names. The 'Cherokee' guy was now 'Apache', and was a bad guy who did a 'war dance' just before stomping the good guy wrestler.

So yes, it is fake. Injuries do happen. But the entire thing is faked otherwise.

nobody has yet explained why most of them are on pain killers. Why- BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH ITS STAGED THE PAIN IS REAL. You guys are fools. You sit behind a computer all day and the most fun you can all find is ganging up on me. At least I have a hobby!

I sit behind one since I work for a software company, And like myself I am sure most users here have non-computer related hobbies.

Why are they on pain killers? Have you ever been on them? Ones like Oxy are more addictive that Heroin. Plus they have docs that will give them anything they want.

If you really want to know Email them and ask...assuming they can use a computer.

Just because doing something hurts doesn't stop it from being fake. They are not *trying* to hurt each other and that makes it fake. I did Judo as a youngster. We did demos at high schools and such. So been there done that. We used to throw someone (usually me) off the mats to show that you could land on a hard surface and not get *seriously* injured if you know how. It hurts some and if done over and over it will certainly take it's toll, but they do it for the money. The guy is not being thrown out of the ring as too much can go wrong in that scenario. He is being helped (maybe) to jump out of the ring on his own so he can control how he lands. When you've been in the ring let me know.
