Creation of "wireless ad hoc network" option not available.

I can not find the "wireless ad hoc network" creation option in my system. My OS is Vista Home Premium 32bit. I have Dell Inspiron 1525.
My network card is: Card, Wireless, Minicard, DW1395 4312BG. which can be accessed at: Card,Wireless,Minicard,DW1395,4312BG : Wireless, WiFi, VoIP & Networking | Dell Canada.

Does my card not support the feature or my OS has some restrictions? Please guide.

I want to use the Internet on my laptop through wifi hotspot on my android tablet (only wifi connection possible) by creating an ad-hoc network. I use USB CDMA/GSM modem to connect to Internet on my laptop.

I searched Microsoft Help online and it states that I should have an option to create an Ad Hoc network. That is accessible at: Set up a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network
But the option of "Set up an ad hoc (computer-to-computer) network" is not available only. I would appreciate if I can get some help.

Hi, sorry for the week long response, none of our other members have decided to chime in so I'll go ahead and try this.

Is Vista Home Premium 32 bit the factory OS?

yes. It has come with my laptop, a bundled OS.

To set up an ad hoc network:
1. On the Start menu, click Connect To.
2. In the Connect to a network window, click the Set up a connection or network task.
3. On the Choose a connection option page, click Set up a wireless ad hoc (computer-to-computer) network, and then click Next. (This option only appears on computers that have wireless adapters.)
4. Read the ad hoc network information, and then click Next.
5. Provide a network name, select whether the network is open or requires authentication, provide a security phrase if necessary, and then click Next.

After Windows Vista sets up the ad hoc network, you have the option of sharing your Internet connection.
To disconnect from an ad hoc network, display the Connect To A Network window, click the ad hoc network, and then click Disconnect.

Have you tried to plug in your android tablet directly to your PC? Generally these newer devices come with a built in screen that allows you surf directly using the tablet, from here you might have an option to create an AD-HOC network.
