corrupt network configuration files?

Recently I tried to apply a static ip-adress (ipv4) in vista home premium. After reopening the properties of the connection, it looked like they were reset to default. When I looked in cmd using ipconfig /all however, the settings semed te be applyed. Since the ipadress actually IS specified I do no longer have ip issues, but the bug annoys me like hell. This is a clean (but perhaps to fast) recovery of vista, so there would not be any other veriables.

So, in short, my networkconnectionproporties do not seem to load in the normall properties window. I have tried reseting like every setting there is, I used netsh to wipe all clean en tryed sfc /scanall, no succes. Therefore I believe there must be some corrupt files (dlls?). What dlls are responsible for loading the propperties (for instance the ip settings), if ik knew that, I could borrow them from someone else...

I did a reinstall couple a days ago... I guess my registry was the problem after all... there were some other issues... in the end they killed the system so I had no choice. It is much more stable now: the registry was not right installed last time because of shutdown to urly in the install process. At least that is what I think...

EOT for me, but perhaps there are other users with the same problem?
