Copy and Paste not working!!!

I'm running Vista Home Premium 32-bit and have Office 2000 SP3 installed. I installed the word viewer so I can view Word 2007 .dcox files. This install has killed the copy and paste function in Vista globally - I can no longer copy and paste in any application, even the file viewer. When I copy something, the paste button becomes active, but when I press it it goes grey and nothing happens. I've done a system restore and uninstalled stuff, but it still does not work. I can't use my computer the way it is!

Yes, uninstall did nothing.

I was able to get on a free MS chat for Vista SP1 issues and the nice gentleman from India resolved the issue by running an optimizer program.
