Convert Tial to Purchase Q?

Since Office 2k doesn't work on vista http://www.vistax64.com/microsoft-office/216209-office-not-responding-after-sleep.html I downloaded the 60 day trial of Office 2007 home/student off the M$ site. It seems to be working fine (no problems with crashing after sleep mode). M$ wants $150 to purchase, while an Amazon seller has the retail pkg for $87. Since the trial requires activation with a real (60 day trial) product key and uses some "convert" utility to purchase, my question is:

Will the retail pkg (CD from Amazon) product key work on the downloaded 60 day trial? If not, will it somehow "remember" and NOT allow me uninstall / reinstall / register the retail (CD from Amazon) version?

Knowing M$ these are not rediculous questions. What's rediculous is the fact M$ charges $60 more for a download than what the retail pkg (with CD) goes for on the open market :)
