controller i bought doesnt work with vista x64

hey i bought this controller at wal-mart lik a year ago its a Game Elements Recoil, wired controller. it worked just fine on my old pc which ran XP media center 32-bit, but i installed the drivers on my new computer with the vista x64, and when i plug it in and start a game, it crashes the game lik 5 seconds after i double-click the icon. any ideas on what i can do?

Did you installing it with "run as an Administrator" rights? if not, uninstall the drivers and install again with admin rights.

If so, try going to the icon on your desktop or the executable, right click on it, click on properties, go to the shortcut tab, click on Advance and tag Run as Adminstrator", hit OK and try it again.

Unless there are some special settings that the software provides you shouldn't need to install anything for the controller; just plug it in and Vista should install drivers for it (unless it is an oddball controller that doesn't have built-in support), then just configure/calibrate it in Control Panel-Game Controllers.
