connecting v-machine to host computer

hi i would like to ask anyone out there who knows how to connect a virtual machine to the same host machine.
I am using a vista machine and i wish to install a linux or windows virtual

well i use vitraul box from sun its not a memhog nice config options and best of all its FREEE :D but what you want do is find the Virtualization software u like best downlaod and install it. If you use Virtual Box be sure to specify where you want your VHDs and VMs before you create your first system because after that its a little more tedious. So after you have configured your Virtualization software download your fav liunx distro iso and install it on your newly created VM. If you have any futher question everybody here is pretty helpful

hi well thanks alot but the issue is that am still new to virtual machines and i have just acquired vimware. I would like to connect my machine to the virtual machine on the same machine... pliz let me know of other options i could use to connect them. thanks guys

have you already installed the vm and everything and need to network the two machines
