"connect to a network" but no networks

Hi, for some reason everything here at my moms is working wirelessly. 1 desktop is

wireless and working fine, my iphone is connected and working fine, the Nintendo

Wii is working fine, i just brought my laptop over from my house and no network is

showing up, and i know that last time i brought it it connected fine and other

networks around us also showed up. How can i reset the network adapter

completely back to factory settings, i know my cousin messed with it to get better

download speeds and ever since then it has been giving me issues.

To reset router
there is a small button hole in the back use a pin/toothpick hold in in for 10 seconds or so.

Couple options

1. restore default router setting

2.If all other networks show, then the one is question may not be broadcasting manually enter the SSID, encryption type, and any key

3. If you see no networks at all, it is your pc/modem, check to make sure the wireless is on, restart pc, and check then check the modem, (make sure all light are green, and it has internet, if not, it is in "standby" push button an top to re-enable)

you can also, unplug router, unplug modem, wait 10 minutes, power up modem, then power up router (after few minutes), restart pc (make sure wireless is on)

ok as i mentioned, every computer is working but my laptop which is not picking up wireless network, my cousin had messed with some settings on the laptop in which from then on any where i go i have had trouble with the finding networks, how do i reset the adapter on the laptop

go to the settings. see the link I provided, and try to manually connect
click adapter properties to see those also.

First have you tried simply restarting you pc?

how freaking stupid. for some reason i decided to walk outside with the computer to try and find other networks and once i walked out the front door it found my network and connected to it. WTF. Thanks for the help though.
