I have just recently installed Age of Empires III on my gateway vista laptop and the install went fine but when I play the game all the colors look like camera film negatives. Is there some setting to change to make the colors look normal? BTW it is an XP game if that has anything to do with. Please help! This is one of my favorite pc games that I cannot enjoy now!

Okay...apparently this person was banned. Before I noticed that, I was going to say that I just recently bought the game with both expansions and it works great.

I also had this problem. I did some searching around mself and read that installing DirectX9c would fix the graphics issue. Before I installed Directx9c I would get the toxic grass once every 2 or 3 games. After installation I loaded 10 games and had no problems whatsoever.

What do you mean by "toxic grass"? Green colour smudged? What graphics card do you have?
