codec problem

here is the error i get with codec 64-bit

What were you installing exactly...and what problem were you trying to resolve.... or did you just want the codec pack "just in case"

i was trying to install

both

1st

Vista 32bit MediaPlayer & MediaCenter Codecs: (everyone needs this version)
|MG| Vista Codec Package 4.6.5 Final​

this one just hung tring to configure space reguirements​

then this

Vista 64bit MediaPlayer & MediaCenter Codecs: (64bit users only)
|MG| Vista Codec x64 Components 1.4.5 Final​

this is where that error appeared​

Both programs have been updated this week, the two versions you have are both old versions...I updated the topic a few days ago with the new releases... http://www.vistax64.com/sound-audio/152850-vista-codec-pack-32bit-64bit-media-player-codecs.html

Make sure you right-click and select "run as admin" and completely uninstall both versions before installing the new ones.

Yes - Install the 32bit version 4.66 first, followed by the 64bit pack version 1.4.7.
