What is the model number of the modem that you are using. You need to log into the Setup page of the modem and change...

ok i did it and changed to WPA but now my computer doesnt pick up my wireless modem signal

thats because you now need to change the settings on your wireless reciever (at your PC or laptop) to WPA PSK and leave the encryption at TKIP , unless that is your using WPA PSK 2 that uses AES encryption
