Solved cd/dvd

cd/will play for a short time and then my screen gets diagonal lines and have to shut down hard drive to get out.

hi Linda,

although this error is triggered by the CD it may be the graphics driver which is actually casing the fault - hence the screen distortion you are seeing. if you can post back with more details on you PC that will enable us to help you more . if you could as a minimum let us know the manufacturer and model number that would be helpful, if possible the details of your graphics card/system would be the most help

Hi Linda, without knowing your system specs, I would guess it is your graphic card being over heat. Check and make sure your cooling fan and heat sink operating and dust free might help. Post back
