CD DVD stopped working

Help!!
My cd dvd has stopped working. It has happened once before and the recovery disc cured it. Tried that again but nothing. I had just loaded itunes 8, any ideas.

Using a Toshiba Satellite L40-139, if that helps.

Hi,

If the installing itunes 8 caused the problem , a system restore to before that may get the drive working again.

Hi KeeleyB, welcome to the vista forums,

This may be an obvious question but have you tried un-installing iTunes8?

there have been some reports of various problems with this revision.

what I would do is un-install then if the problem is cured I would try re-installing.

If un-installing does not help then I would try a system restore to a time before the problem occurred.

Have tried this already and worked once but I lost it again a few minutes later. Now nothing.

Hi keeleyb,

It may not be related to the iTunes install of course it could be something as simple as a loose/dirty connection on the cable to the drive, not to difficult to check on a desktop not so simple on a laptop
