Hi!
I have an LG E50 laptop. My burner used to work fine and I was able to drag and drop files automatically into the blank CD's window after it was automatically formatted and labelled.
Now, after I put an empty disk into the drive, the AutoPlay pops up, but when I click on any of the options, the AutoPlay window closes and nothing else happens. I've clicked all the options and none of them open new windows.
Then I tried to open the window manually by opening MyComputer and then clicking on the D: drive. The D: drive is called "DVD RW", but I think it's always been that way, so I don't think that's part of the problem...? Anyway, when I try to manually open it, either by double clicking or right clicking and choosing the option of "Explore" or "Open", the pointer has the "busy" circle mouse running for about half a second, and then nothing.
I tried to drag and drop into the logo within the MyComputer window, but nothing happens. The description under "DVD RW Drive (D
" says "702 MB free of 702 MB", and it doesn't change even if I drag and drop files.
I tried to format the CD by right clicking and choosing the "Format..." option, and that doesn't do anything either.
I've tried to do other commands, such as "Eject", but this option results in a pop-up that says " 'DVD RW Drive (D
' is currently in use. Save any open files on this disc, and then close the files or programs using the files before ejecting the disc." No Error number is given.
I tried using a DVD to burn somethings, in the case it may just be CD's, but the DVD does the same thing. The difference with the DVD was that I was able to burn videos and other files through Media Player, which I accidentally minimized and stayed that way for some reason no matter how many times I tried to restore it, and the DVD seemed to turn out okay.
Can anyone help me with this??? I've been trying to burn some documents for a friend and to back up some files before school starts and it's really frustrating. I've also tried restarting the computer.
I've recently downloaded McAfee onto my computer through my school, because I can't use the school wireless without it. Do you think this might be a problem? I've used the same CD and DVD types/company brands to burn things before, so it's a new thing for me, and I've even burned a music CD last week (before McAfee) without a problem.
Please help!
Any tips/help will be appreciated!
Thanks!
