Can't re-install windows vista in laptop

Today I received a laptop to "format". It's an HP, so I guessed that it would have a recovery partition to revert the laptop to its factory nature. Sadly, I couldn't do much, I looked at the license label, it said "Windows Vista Home Premium OEMAct HP" so I thought the guy had a reinstall disc, which I was wrong again, it didn't had a partition or a disc.

Any recommendations? I was thinking of using a windows vista home premium dvd I have at home but I don't know if it will accept the license key the laptop provides. Will it be possible?

Hi allenskd, Welcome to vista forums.

You need to hit F11 while booting....to get into the HP Recovery screen.
If you already tried that, use any vista DVD to reinstall Home Premium, Use the original product key to activate the copy. You can find the product key underneath the laptop.

Yeah, you are in luck- the Premium disk will work with the Premium product key. You may have to call and activate it though if the automatic activation fails.
