Can't open Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail because a software restriction is preventing the window from opening,contact a system adminstrator. What does this mean and what do I do?

Hello Joank,
If you are not part of a domain, then you might see if this may be the issue. You'll need to do either Method Two or Method Three to enable Windows Mail again.

Double check with your email provider's (ex: ISP) account setup instructions at their site. It sounds like your email account's SMTP settings are not set correct correctly in Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail.

Who is your email provider, and I'll see if I can find a link to their account setup instructions for you? 
In Windows Mail, you can click on Tools, Accounts, select the account, click on Properties button and click on the Advanced tab to see the screenshot in my post above.
In Windows Live Mail 2011, you would right click on the email account (left pane) this is happening with, click on Properties, and click on the Advanced tab to see the screenshot in my post above.

I use basic as my email provider and it works. The info is
Incoming (Pop3): Mail.BasicIsp.net
Outgoing (SMTP):Mail.BasicIsp.net
Incoming (Pop3): Mail.BasicIsp.net
Outgoing (SMTP):Mail.BasicIsp.net
