I have saved my resume on my new computer with Vista Word. After sending out resumes, I now find no one can open it on computers with MS Word 95/97. What??? It tried to open it on my old laptop with word 95 and bingo... nothin. No wonder no one has called. Please help...

Hello Pillsie, and welcome to Vista Forums.
MS Word is not included with Vista. It is part the MS Office suite that is sometimes bundled with a OEM computer as a trial version. Vista has WordPad instead at C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories\wordpad.exe. You might send your resume created with Wordpad instead.
Unless they have Office or MS Word, they will not be able to open the file without a 3rd party viewing program like the free:

By default Word2007 saves as ".docx", if you want your files to be viewable on older versions of word then you must use the "save as" menu and save the file as a word 97-2003 Document ".doc"

P.S. - As you referred to it, the Vista Word program is actually more than likely Microsoft Word 2007, as z3r010 mentioned - this *does* come pre-installed on some OEM machines, such ass Dells, HPs, etc - but it is not a native part of Vista, as Brink mentioned. Hence Shawn's correction.
