Can't log in

Hello to all, this is my first time here.
When I enter my password I keep getting the same message.

The User Profile Service service failed the login.
User profile cannot be loaded.

This is a Dell Studio Laptop, with Windows Vista Ultimate.

Are you possibly using AVG antivirus? When I used to participate in AVG forums, I learned that their antivirus is famous for corrupting user profiles. Although it never happened to me, this is one of many reasons I no longer use AVG.
