Welcome
It may be a hardware isssue (computer is broken) which I cannot help or a driver problem
If driver problem, go to search by the start button and type device manager
In device manager update the drivers for DVD/CD drives. If it says you have the most up to date uninstall and try to install again. Good luck
I would try the DVD in another computer to make sure its not defective.
Are you sure that the printer and camera are compatible with Vista?

As I undersand that, your XP disc works fine and you are facing the problem with Vista Disc.

Well, XP installation disc is a CD that contains max of 700 MB data, but vista installation disc is a DVD that contains 4.7 GB data.

If you have a CD drive/writer then the DVD wont load at all. :)

First confirm if you have a CD or DVD drive?

If it's a DVD, goto device manager, uninstall the DVD driver -> restart the computer -> Goto DVD drive's (manufacturer's) web site-> download the latest Driver. If the problem with driver or software then it should fix.

Else you can contact your manufacturer.

Hi again

I've looked at camera cd and it is w 98 to xp so that wont work I assume vivitar vivicam 5386

But printer bought new and works on xp vist and w7 so that should load

Presume I can also load camera cd if I put windows xp on this machine-- Easy note-- I have a 7 in one cd with licence and sp1 xp pro and home + tech stuff on it

Laptop has 110 g hdd and 1.5 g ram.

Just goes to show you need to look at cd labels! 1st time I have. Cheers:zip:

Sounds like your Autoplay does not work. Go to COMPUTER and double click on the CD reader (when the CD is spinning).

I gave it a go and it made weird grinding noises and eventually said cyclic redundancy
check
So its only xp it works on,left an email with vivitar as seems others are having same prob with vista

Cheers:confused:

PS
Printer loaded by connecting it first then follow instruct then cd loaded--not as fast as xp!!

I would think that is what happens. Can you not copy the pictures to a permanent folder.

For the volume, go to Playback Devices and play with Levels in Properties.
