I have an ASUS G1 LAPTOP with Nvidia Geforce GO 7700 GRAPHIC CARD. I'm thinking its causing me a problem when I try to install SP1 from the windows update or from the stand alone version. I keep getting this code " 8024200D " from the windows update. Its the only update I see on the Windows Update available. The laptop is running Vista Home Premium. I ran the sfc /scannow and it didn't find anything wrong . I also ran the memory test with memtest 86+ and found no errors. Is there a way to fix this ?

uninstall the nVidida graphics driver and see if SP1 installs. Then re0install it (make sure you verify if that laptop can use nVidia's released drivers or if you need to get a driver from the manufacturer first.

I went to the Nvidida website I couldn't find any drivers for my graphic Card. Do you think its my graphic card from that error message ?

Most likely - did you check the ASUS site as well? Also look through their forums - most other owners of that model laptop will probably also be having issues with Vista SP1 if it is a hardware device driver issue....

The Asus website has drivers from 2007 not updated ones. I'm reading one of the forums right now and it says something about this website " www.laptopvideo2go.com " and I'm not seeing anything for Geforce Go 7700 drivers.

It just says VGA drivers but I dont think those are the Nvidia Gforce Go 7700 drivers. When I went to PROGRAM AND FEATURES it says NVIDIA drivers 2000 compatibility. But I don't see any drivers for it on the Nvidia website.

Make sure that you install all of the drivers and everything is looking fine in Device Manager before trying Windows update.

Everything Looks fine in the device manager . I even tried updating the vga drivers and it said its up to date. All the drivers are up to date and still get that error code when I try to install sp1 on vista from windows update. I ran the sfc command didn't find anything wrong. Ran the memory test didnt find anything also ran chkdsk didn't find anything.
