When I try to install service pack 2 I get this message:

Installation was not successful

A system error prevented the service pack from installing. Please download and run the "Check for system update readiness" tool at Description of the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista, for Windows Server 2008, and for Windows 7

If the "Check for system update readiness" tool doesn't fix the problem, visit the microsoft website for more information. (Details)

Error: TRUST_E_NOSIGNATURE(0x800b0100)

Note* I have ran the System Update Readiness Tool and still getting this error. Any help would be much appreciated.

Strongly suggest you reply to Flatvius's suggestions. You would do best trying to isolate and repair the underlying problem first.

From personal experience, I've found that if you download and force an SP2 installation, you run the risk of corrupting the Vista install.

Aoart from the excellent advice that Flavius posted, there 2 other things you can try:

1. Disconnect all devices except the mouse and keyboard
2. Do the installation in Safe Mode
