cannot load the hive file

hi, so just 30 min ago i was running c cleaners wipe free space, and i left my laptop not realising the power connector had came out. so when i returned my laptop was off. when i try to boot backup i get error 'cannot load the hive file' and startup repair is asking for username and password under other user? i have tried booting in safe mode and still get the hive file message. i do not have the bood disk anymore and not sure if there is any restore points left after a recent virus attack that iv just recoverd from.
