Cannot find/delete McAfee VirusScan

I tried to install ZoneAlarm Pro on my computer. Every time I try, a notification pops up saying "GLB2A30.tmp has stopped working" Once I hit 'Close Program' a notification pops up saying
"Address a problem with McAfee VirusScan

McAfee VirusScan has stopped working properly."

I used to have McAfee, but I deleted it sometime ago, but it keeps saying I have McAfee VirusScan still on my computer. I cannot locate it. Any help?

Thank you. That is what I was looking for. The removal tool. Sadly, that did not fix my problem. I don't know what to do. I'm installing ZoneAlarm, I don't know why I would get a message saying McAfee Virus Scan (which I've searche registry and all and cannot find) isn't responding.

You have to reinstall McAfee and then delete it with the MCPR.exe.

You have to pay for McAfee though. How could I re-install it.

So you think if I install this free trial, use the removal tool to remove everything, this will solve me problem?

It is my experience that the MCPR.exe and similar programs cannot remove "leftovers" from a partial deinstallation. They apparently loose their bearings. There are good chances that a full McAfee will be removed properly because during the reinstallation, they replace the old residual hooks. No guarentee though.

Whenever I click download, it brings me back to the previous page. If I click the Mirror link, that is where that notification pops up.

I wonder whether the troublesome remnant on your
system could be blocking the download, or if it's just that site.

You could try Googling - McAfee VirusScan free trial - if
you'd like to try other download sites.

Okay, I've tried everything I can think of. Tried installing McAfee and then using the Product Removal Tool. I even tried it in Safe mode. The error message keeps popping up. Oh well. I don't really need ZoneAlarm Pro anyways. Just would have been nice to try it, since it was free.

If you are dropping ZoneAlarm, be sure to enable MS Windows Firewall.

Yeah. I tried Comodo. It came up with 3 false positives. I went back to Avast.
