Can 2 users share a Windows Mail account on the same PC?

Wow, this is the third time I've posted this question. 100+ viewers and not a single response. I'll try to reword it. If what I'm asking is unclear, can one of you gurus say what extra info you need?

I have Vista Home premium. I'm using Windows Mail as POP3 and SMTP client. I recently had to set up a second user account for work purposes. This was so I could access various services on a secure network.

What I'm wanting to know is HOW can I set this second user up so that it uses the same Windows Mail account. So far I have it set up with all the same login details etc. However I can't seem to get the same folders to appear. I thought it was a sharing problem, but have selected the right folder and shared the relevant directory.

I'm stumped. At the moment any email I receive in one user account remains innaccessible to me from my other user account.

To restate this: I have a home user and a work user set up in Vista home premium. I want to use the same Windows Mail account in both, ie sharing the same folders, and the same Inbox etc. Is this possible, and if so how?

Im not too sure if there is a synchronising option in windows mail, might have to bite the bullet and forkout for outlook

You need to create two users account profile on the windows first both with administrator rights..
If you want both to use the same windows mail, under the same profile.. you can create two accounts on windows mail but seperate the folders by having two inbox and downloaded emails from each account emails can be redirected to different inbox
See the inbox rules

Im sorry, PHJ i dont actually use windows mail, so I am unaware of any of the settings within it. But as a general rule, your server is the one that should detect and "fill-in" (synchronise) the missing emails that are distributed between the two computers.
You might have to talk to whoever is hosting your mail server

Thanks ashvin, but not quite sure I understand. The point is to have the same inbox and the same folders for both users. Are you suggesting I set up a 2nd and 3rd account, and regularly synchronise them with the first?

Yseperate the folders by having two inbox and downloaded emails from each account emails can be redirected to different inbox

Do the users have different email address? or are you talking of having the windows set up in two computes and both downloads the emails??
Please clarify me.. can provide better solution.. thanks

My Computer

Thanks. When I said 'user' I meant user on Vista. Not in Windows Mail. I am trying to access one email account, one email address, one inbox, but from two separate Vista user accounts.

Do the users have different email address? or are you talking of having the windows set up in two computes and both downloads the emails??
Please clarify me.. can provide better solution.. thanks

My Computer

this is possible with outlook express not windows mail.. if you set up the same email address under both profiles.. the first person logging in will download all the emails from the mail server and the other won't..
trying to find a fix for that.. but there is none at the moment..

My Computer

Ahhh... well at least that explains the problem, if not solving it. Thanks Ashvin. Hope to hear from you if you ever crack the problem, as I suspect there are more than a few of us scratching our heads over this one.

All the best.

working on that... think a script might help like going and fetching the emails from the other profile and load that on windows mail actual profile.. one will be the main downloader from the mail server but the other one will just download emails from the other profile.
seems easy but only will figure that out when start writing it..
Anyone from the forum want to help??
Cheers
